Final Day in Uralsk!

Well, we have at last reached our final day here in Uralsk. We will fly to Almaty tomorrow morning where we will do some more paperwork and have some appointments at the US embassy before finally coming home. We will definitely miss our plush digs at the Pushkin.

I wanted to thank all of you who offered advice. I'm happy to say they are still both sleeping through the night until we wake them at 8, which is great. Jackson is now almost completely on formula, which is so much easier and cleaner. Unfortunately, Madden is still very picky about what she wants to eat, and sometimes she will eat something just fine at one meal and completely refuse the exact same thing the next. She also will have nothing to do with formula now, which is hard to understand because she really seemed to like the first bottle we gave her, but since then she wants nothing to do with it. We aren't really sure how we will manage to bring food she will decide to eat and spoon feed her on the plane in such cramped space with Jackson right there trying to get his hands on the food- I have a feeling she will be very hungry when we reach Sacramento, but all we can do is try. Thankfully our flight to Almaty is only 3 hours so we shouldn't have any major problems (we hope).

We don't have too much else to write about as the days are pretty much all the same here, but we are definitely looking forward to getting home!
This is us wearing the babies to lunch today. It took about an hour and a half (restaurants are so slow here!), and they were amazingly good. Jackson managed to grab a cucumber slice and Madden got a roll, and they were pretty happy munching on those most of the time.

Jackson with his favorite toys- yes, he is playing with a box.
Jackson in the midst of couch gymnastics.
This is us and our travel partners with all of the babies' caregivers at the babyhouse. When we picked them up we had a small ceremony where we gave them cakes and our gifts and told them thank you for caring for our children. Yes, Jackson is pulling someone's hair!
This is our interpreter, Aliya, who took very good care of us during our stay in Uralsk!

Teresa and Kevin, You look so wonderful "wearing" your babies! You two look like you have everything under control already. All of you look a bit more relaxed in these pictures. I think you will be glad to get back to Almaty. It sounds like there are a lot more things available there. Take care as you start the final leg of your journey. We can't wait to hug all of you. Love, Mom and Dad

WOW! What a great looking family! You all look so relaxed and happy, and little Madden is smiling to beat the band! Your flight to Almaty will be a good "trial run!" Enjoy your "vacation" in Almaty. Get your rest, you have a whole new way of life to explore when you get home. You're almost home - hang in there and know we love you all - LOTS!

Okay, Grammas and Grandpas, start your engines........!

Love,
Tina & Jim
